GVP Ceramic Hair Straightener

Love the Chi hair straightener but can't afford it? I was in the same boat! My sister in law kept telling me about this "awesome" GVP straightener she got, but I didn't try it for a while.  In my mind, they're all alike and mine worked just fine.

Until one day, when mine was still packed away..hers was out and hot, so I asked to use it.  I don't even know where to begin on how amazing it was.  When I finished straightening my hair, not only did my hair feel softer than it ever had, but it was stick straight!  My former straightener would straighten my hair, but it took several swipes over the same strand, and it was just something I had come accustomed to. One swipe with this GVP was all that was needed on each strand.  This thing gets up to 470 degrees!  It actually advertises that it locks in color as well...I currently have lowlights and highlights, and it seems to hold true..my color is lookin' pretty good!

The GVP is a generic of the Chi, and I'm definitely impressed with it. Upon using it, I ended up going to Sally's Hair Supply in Campbellsville and bought my own.  If you'd like to check it out, I will end the post with the link to the page. In the meantime, here's the details provided:

  • Adjustable Automatic Temperature Settings
  • Automatic Safety Shut Off after 60 minutes
  • Dual Voltage for worldwide use
  • Tangle-free 9-ft. swivel cord
  • 29 Heat settings (160°F to 450°F)

  • The versatile GVP Auto Digital Ceramic Flat Iron has an ergonomic design and curved edge 1" plates. This iron creates silky smooth hair instantly and eliminates frizz while straightening, styling, and volumizing. A powerful heating element and 29 heat settings gives you the power to create the style of your dreams.

The GVP Auto Digital Ceramic Flat Iron uses Far Infrared Ceramic plates that maintain a constant, even temperature, eliminating hot spots that can cause damage and breakage to delicate hair strands. This unique ceramic technology also produces negative ions that seal the cuticle, repel humidity, and lock in hair color to help resist fading while smoothing and straightening.

Features include an adjustable temperature range from 160°F to 450°F. Dual Ceramic PTC Heaters allow for instant heat up and recovery. The lightweight, ergonomic design is squeeze sensitive to help style hair with minimal tension with no pulling or tugging.

The GVP Story: Generic Value Products brand was formed because a group of experienced beauty professionals knew they could produce at "Popular Prices" a product as good as the higher priced, quality name brands.

    Prevage Review

As I mentioned in my last post, I am now a DEVOUT user of Elizabeth Arden makeup. I will NOT use anything else from here on out!!  In the awesome makeup bag filled with goodies that I received with my pressed foundation purchase a few weeks ago, I mentioned that I received Day and Night creams that I had not yet tried.  Maybe it's because I'm getting older, but having a night-time face cleaning ritual is becoming very important to me!  I used to go to bed too lazy to even wash my makeup off, but now it's a must!

I started wearing the day cream several days ago underneath my makeup. It has SPF 30 in it, so not only is it lightly scented with a pleasant smell, but it makes my face soft and is a great base for my foundation to go onto.  My amazing makeup stays on all day and looks as good before I wash it off at night as it did when I first put it on.  Upon using Clean and Clear liquid to foam face wash and just a Dollar General Store brand toner, I apply my new Prevage night cream sample.  The toner tends to dry my face out because of the alcohol, but I like to use it because its great to remove the makeup my face wash misses.  This night cream has the same smell and look as the day cream, but it is an anti-aging restorative cream. You can never start too early with anti-aging things, in my opinion.  No sense in waiting for wrinkles to start showing up before I try to fight them!

Anyway, the consensus here is a good one. I love both of these products too! I also switched from my Avon eye makeup remover to Elizabeth Arden's because it just takes one swipe of this liquid to do the job.  I'm also fond of lip stain lipgloss/lipstick and this is great at removing that too!  Everything in this brand has been a great experience for me & I'd recommend it to anyone!  If you're looking to switch brands, I'd check this one out if I were you...I really think you'll be as pleasantly surprised as I was!
