Update

So, in my last post, I described a new morning ritual I was beginning.
I get out of bed when the Lord wakes me (thankful that it hasn't been too terribly early so far!), been studying in the book of Proverbs (my favorite!), and praying often. I've included Him in my weight loss journey and have asked for His help.
And since then, I've lost almost a pound. I had been plateau for 3 weeks, and 2 days after starting this new ritual, I lost weight. How silly that I forget to include God in the little things when He wants to be in all. :)

Include God--even in weight loss!

So last night, I'm sitting in church and the pastor started a study about the glory of God. What is the glory of God? I could go on and on about the sermon, but I'll only address this one part.

The pastor, at one point, weighed nearly 200 lbs with a stature not much taller than my own at 5'2. I'd say he's around 5'5-5'7. He said you wouldn't be able to tell the difference between him and a huge ball. He wanted to glorify God, but with all this extra weight, he wasn't able to do all the things he wanted to do. His body was a temple and he had let it get out of control. So, he started praying and told God that he would start getting out of bed whenever the Lord decided to wake him. He would immediately get down on his knees, pray, and then spend time in the Word. After this, he would work out. When he took on this ritual (and he had tried EVERYTHING previously and failed)...he lost 40 lbs. You know WHY he didn't fail? Because God never does and he included God in his weight loss journey! As a pastor's wife, you would think I would've thought of including God in this venture as well, but it never crossed my mind, besides asking God to bless my food and let it be a nourishment to my body.

I followed the same example this morning...was out of bed a little before 7 and spent time in the Word. My workout will come around midday, but the Lord is now part of it and I have faith that I will see results soon! I'll keep you up to date..what an awesome testimony for God's awesomeness in ALL things it will be!!
